At the 2019 adidas MLS Player Combine in Orlado, Fla., Harry Swartz’s (Needham, Mass.) worst nightmare became reality.
In the final day of scrimmages, his last chance to impress MLS coaches, the Northeastern University star rolled his ankle. Frustrated and worried about what comes next, Swartz returned to Boston and got an MRI. The diagnosis: high ankle sprain.
Swartz ultimately went undrafted and spent the next two months hobbled, staying in shape with bike workouts and training with Chris Gbandi’s team at Northeastern.
