Ben Mines made a big splash on the Major League Soccer scene, scoring in his first game against the Portland Timbers, a 4-0 win on March 10, 2018.
Since, the former Oakwood SC and Beachside SC midfielder has experienced plenty of ups and downs, but nonetheless has a bright future.
As a youth player, the 18-year-old took the unconventional path of traveling down to the New York Red Bulls academy, eventually signing as a Homegrown Player. The journey is still evolving, but so far it's proved fruitful.
To learn more about Mines' journey on and off the field, Kyle McCarthy of New England Soccer Journal caught up with the Ridgefield, Conn., native for our "Hangin' Out With" section.
