Of 48 possible picks in the third and fourth rounds of the 2019 MLS SuperDraft, teams opted to "pass" 21 times.
Perhaps nothing speaks to the event's direction than nearly half of possible selections resulting in, well, nobody at all. There's still value in first-round guys and some second-rounders will sneak onto a roster or two, but the SuperDraft as a whole seems to be aligning less and less with the league's overall direction.
Despite that letdown for players and college programs alike, six players with New England ties were among the 27 chosen. All went at various stages of the third round, including a pair of teammates from the Ivy League.
