As a program, Central Connecticut State hasn’t recorded a winning season since 2011 and now has logged six straight losing campaigns.
They’re tough-to-swallow facts that frame a transitional phase for a Northeast Conference club that saw Shaun Green retire in early December after 35 years at the helm. Now, the Blue Devils are looking to rebuild under interim head coach Dave Kelly, who’d been on Green’s staff as an assistant since 2013.
The program’s glory days, such as a 2007 run to the Sweet 16, feel far off.
