During her first three seasons with the Southern New Hampshire women’s soccer team, midfielder Mikayla Thompson (Milford, N.H.) saw flashes of brilliance, up-and-down moments, and been tantalizingly close to sustained excellence.
A little bit of everything.
As a first-year player in 2021, Thompson started 16 of 18 matches as the Penmen went 13-4-1 overall and 11-2 in the Northeast-10 Conference to win the regular-season title. SNHU was nationally ranked, but fell to Southern Connecticut State in the NE10 tournament and was clipped by Mercy in the NCAA Division 2 tournament.
