The Franklin Pierce University players understand the magnitude of their trip to Matthews, N.C., to compete in the Division 2 women's Final Four this weekend.
They want to win the sixth NCAA championship in program history, but they want to do it with a smile.
"We’re having fun, that’s kind of who we are," FPU head coach Matt Johnson said. "We just flew out here (Wednesday) morning, and we’ve already had two different birthdays and an anniversary, so everybody is joking around and celebrating.
"I think a big reason why we’re here is because of the chemistry and the fact that the ladies enjoy being around each other. We’re a pretty laid back staff and we’ve created this environment where it’s, ‘Hey, let’s have fun, and then let’s win some soccer games, as well.'"
