During her first two seasons with the Saint Michael’s College women’s soccer team, forward Cassie Tofteroo (Bridgewater, Mass.) played in 17 matches but did not score a goal, and only two of her six shots were on target.
So, this past summer, Tofteroo kept her preparations for her junior season focused on shooting -- a lot of it.
"I just went out and I worked with my old club coach (from Rhode Island Surf), and twice a week, he and I would go out and just shoot," Tofteroo said. "I just worked on accuracy and confidence with my shots, and working on that helped a lot coming into the season when I was given that opportunity to be able to actually put it in the back of the net."
