Sally Rainey fulfilled just about every expectation that could have been in front of her as a homespun star from West Lebanon, N.H., in her two years starting in net at the University of New Hampshire.
She became the first UNH keeper in program history to earn back-to-back America East Goalkeeper of the Year honors, in leading the conference with nine shutouts and a conference-best 0.778 goals-against average as a senior, while helping lead the Wildcats to a 12-5-1 record.
Rainey was also named First Team All-New England after a redshirt freshman year and sophomore year, when she was primarily a backup in net.
