Defender Fiona Kane (Easton, Mass.) has played virtually every minute for the University of Massachusetts women's soccer team during the last four seasons, clocking at least 90 minutes in 63 of her 71 career matches.
That is a solid and dependable return.
"There's nothing better than experience, and Fiona's been super consistent over her four years with us already. So we know what we're getting from her," UMass coach Jason Dowiak said.
And Kane is not done yet. She will return for a fifth season, granted in response to the impact COVID-19 had on college athletics during the 2020-2021 season. In addition, Kane is finishing her hospitality and tourism management undergraduate degree and will start graduate work in business analytics, while playing with the Minutewomen next fall.
