The final year in a club soccer player’s career is usually filled with nostalgia, as their college career beckons and new challenges await.
At that stage, the game has come full circle for Connor Haskell, as he’s joined back on with GPS Massachusetts, his boyhood club. The Medfield, Mass., native will play for Matt Hardiman’s U-19 team, all after spending five years in the New England Revolution academy system.
Haskell, a left back who will play at Xavier University next fall, spent the fall 2017 Development Academy season with the Revs’ U-19 team, playing in nine games.
“I’d been with the Revs for five years, and was looking for a change of scenery before heading off to Xavier,” Haskell said. “I started in club soccer GPS when I was 8 or so, and I thought it was a change for the better.”
