The United States Soccer Federation provides a "Profile Of The Grassroots Coach" for all of the Coach Education Grassroots courses that they run.
Coach candidates learn the importance of "Evaluating and Reflecting" as they coach their teams throughout a given season. The evaluating and reflecting can be done after a training or game but also at the end of a full competitive season.
As a Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association high school boys coach, evaluating and reflecting on the fall 2021 competitive soccer season this month allows for me to best support my players, my program, and my overall coaching. In addition, it also allows me to spend some time focusing on how our fall MIAA competitive structure looked and felt as there were major changes to tournament qualifying, rankings and structure.
