The New England Revolution are on a tear, recording an 11-game unbeaten streak (7-0-4) that has included three consecutive wins against teams not in the playoff picture.
Now a litmus test awaits, as Bruce Arena’s team will welcome Supporters’ Shield leaders LAFC to Gillette Stadium on Saturday evening. The Black-and-Gold are on pace to break the MLS all-time points record (held by Toronto FC; 69 in 2017) and are led by Golden Boot frontrunner Carlos Vela, whose 22 goals and 13 assists could threaten Josef Martinez and Carlos Valderrama’s respective single-season records.
The good times are rolling for New England, but they recognize the magnitude of the challenge ahead.
