Jose “Pepe” Moreno joined the New England Revolution in 2012, transferring from Once Caldas after falling to Junior Barranquilla in the Colombian Liga Aguila final.
Moreno was a powerful striker who had performed in several countries, but apparently had second thoughts about moving to New England and seemed unmotivated before being released after a five-month stay.
Juan Fernando Caicedo officially became a Revolution player this week, playing for Independiente in a losing cause against Junior Barranquilla in the Colombian final on Sunday. But Caicedo likely has plenty of reasons to be gratified during his stateside stay. Namely, Caicedo is likely receiving at least $500,000 in salary.
