PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Dr. Krissy Turner, the head coach of the Monmouth women’s soccer team, couldn’t help but feel like her team should have progressed to the second round of the NCAA tournament.
“I thought we created a lot of chances and, to be quite honest, I thought we were the better team,” Turner said bluntly.
The neutral observer can't blame her, as the Hawks (14-2-3) dominated possession, 50-50 balls and the tactical battle on Saturday afternoon at Stevenson-Pincince Field. But the metric that actually mattered titled in host Brown’s favor, as the Bears (14-1-3) booked a second-round matchup at Florida State.
