There’s a saying that lightning doesn’t strike the same spot twice. But don’t tell Brooke Jenkins that. Now a junior midfielder and captain at the University of Vermont, she’s torn her right ACL — twice.
"I never in a million years thought I would tear my ACL in the first place," Jenkins said. "I had seen people do it and they’d be running and fall down, since a lot are non-contact. I always thought, ‘Not me.’"
But as she’s learned the hard way, debilitating injuries aren’t something a player can quite predict or avoid.
