With preseason in the books, Wednesday marks the return of NEPSAC boys soccer. While some have to wait until Saturday for official competition, the bulk of the region's teams get underway midweek.
The opening matchday features several tantalizing encounters, so New England Soccer Journal has highlighted the top ones to keep tabs on. Four of the five contests listed below feature teams from our preseason poll, as voted on by prep coaches.
One more note: Wednesday marks the start of prep programs trying to dethrone last year’s champions. As a reminder, those top dogs were Loomis Chaffee (Class A), Brooks (Class B), Hebron (Class C) and Hyde (Class D). Could a repeat be in store? We’ll find out over the next 10 weeks.
