Like most around youth soccer circles, college coaches had seen rumors about the Development Academy’s possible demise.
So when the official news dropped last Wednesday – not only would the DA’s 2019-20 season be ending, but the league was being terminated entirely by U.S. Soccer amid the COVID-19 pandemic – coaches weren’t too caught off guard.
Now, as the emotions have settled, Brown head coach Pat Laughlin returns to a prevailing thought.
