In his 25-plus years of coaching college soccer, Gary Crompton has come to realize how much collective spirit can drive a team forward.
So when junior defender Jack Murray spoke up after a recent Bentley win, Crompton took notice. Murray, who was subbed off for Jack Aronson, was quick to heap praise on the freshman for his role.
“Even though it was his spot that got replaced, he took that moment to recognize it,” Crompton said of Murray. "Some kids wouldn't have wanted it to be realized, since his job might be in jeopardy. But he's such a team-first guy and wanted everyone to know the young guy did great."
