If head coach Tony Martone had his way, Merrimack would have moved to the Division 1 ranks back when he first took the job in 1982.
Now in his 38th season at the helm, Martone has received his wish and the school from North Andover, Mass., is enjoying great success in switching out of the Northeast-10 Conference and Division 2.
Merrimack is currently atop the Northeast Conference with a 7-3-2 record, wasting little time in adjusting to its new Division 1 stomping grounds.
