When Graeme Blackman took over the Buckingham Browne & Nichols girls soccer program ahead of the 2016 season, the Knights were coming off a 3-13 campaign and finished bottom of the Independent School League standings.
But slowly, the side from Cambridge, Mass., began to turn the corner.
They won the ISL in 2017, as led by Kayla Duran (Woburn, Mass.), the 2018 Massachusetts Gatorade Player of the Year who's now at Boston College. That same season produced a trip to the Class A final, and the Knights made the Class A semifinals in 2018 before bowing out to Loomis Chaffee on penalty kicks.
