WESTON, Mass. – Just four days ago, their hopes of another NEPSAC title were on life support.
Down 1-0 to Independent School League rival Noble and Greenough with the minutes melting away, top-seeded Buckingham Browne and Nichols needed a late equalizer, then two goals in overtime to survive the Class A quarterfinals with a 3-1 win.
After that, the Knights left absolutely nothing to chance.
BB&N (19-0-1) capped off a third straight Class A title and second straight undefeated season, scoring two goals in the opening 10 minutes of Sunday’s championship game to set the tone in a 4-0 win against No. 3 Westminster, played in the sun, chill and wind at The Rivers School.
