Throughout his professional career, one that’s now in its fourth year, Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu (Bellingham, Mass.), has always held a measured outlook on the broader society he’s a part of.
That tact surfaces nowadays when Wheeler-Omiunu, 25, discusses the protests that have engulfed America since George Floyd, an unarmed Black man, was killed by a white police officer in Minneapolis.

Locally, he progressed through GPS Massachusetts and Roxbury Latin before becoming an All-Ivy League player at Harvard. He was part of Atlanta United's MLS Cup-winning squad in 2018 and spent last year at FC Tucson.
