When the Division 3 men’s soccer season began around Labor Day weekend, teams across New England dreamed of playing as the calendar flipped to December.
Only Amherst has earned that right, reaching its sixth Final Four in program history and third national semifinal in the last five years. The Mammoths, back-to-back NESCAC champions, have compiled a 17W-2L-3D record and remain chasing their second-ever national title.
To keep on dancing, head coach Justin Serpone’s team must overcome semifinal opponent Washington and Lee on Dec. 1, when visiting Kerr Stadium in Salem, Va. The winner meets either Washington College or St. Olaf in the national final on Dec. 3.
