When the Northeast-10 decided against playing sports in the Fall of 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, or subsequently moving its league and championship games to the spring 2021 semester, Allyson Patterson (Seekonk, Mass.), a midfielder for the Southern New Hampshire women’s soccer team, had to consider an unappealing option.
SNHU stated it would not compete in any sport during the 2020-21 academic year, even though the conference sanctioned its schools individually scheduling games, including women’s soccer.
"Not coming back was always an option for me, especially when everything just got cut short," Patterson said. "It wasn’t the best-case scenario."
