Of the 10 defenders named a United Soccer Coaches High School All-American earlier this fall, only one was from New England.
That player now has a college soccer home, after Worcester Academy senior co-captain Ekrem Hadzic (Burlington, Vt.) announced his commitment to Stonehill. Hadzic, whose family is from Bosnia and Herzegovina, was named Prep School Defender of the Year by New England Soccer Journal last December.
As for why he took the Northeast-10 and Division 2 route at Stonehill, Hadzic outlined what pushed it to the forefront.
