For reasons beyond his control, Kaan Inanoglu (West Roxbury, Mass.) left his comfort zone after his first two years of high school.
Inanoglu grew up in the Dallas, Texas area, and developed as a student and soccer player there through his sophomore year of high school. Then, he and his family moved to the Boston area, due to his mother’s new job.
For most kids, a move across the country, after having already established a circle of friends and an athletic presence in a very familiar hometown, is a difficult and potentially overwhelming process.
Inanoglu certainly felt that. There was uneasiness and nerves when he left Texas.
