The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically reduced college soccer viewing options during the Fall 2020 semester, but the ACC is still forging ahead.
The ACC recently announced its updated schedule, with 11 programs set to play six games from Sept. 10-Nov. 8 (three home, three away) after Boston College previously opted out. The rest are split into North and South regions to help reduce travel.
After playing their limited regular-season schedule, the top four teams from each region (eight total) will qualify for the ACC tournament and build toward the final Nov. 22. There’s no NCAA tournament until possibly the spring, and all players maintain an extra year of eligibility after a blanket waiver was passed Aug. 21. In other words, they can compete in any number of games this fall and not lose eligibility.
Program by program (sorted alphabetically), here’s a rundown of all ACC men’s soccer local connections to watch for. Whether it’s players from New England or local NEPSAC programs, there's plenty of talent on display.
