After a 14-day quarantine period, special travel documents and months-long recovery from foot surgery, Abby Carchio (Lakeville, Mass.) has begun her professional soccer dream.
Carchio, a captain of Brown’s Ivy League-winning side in 2019 and former NEFC youth player, recently signed with Lithuanian club Gintra Universitetas. They’re a Champions League regular and have won every A Lyga title since 2005.
But Carchio, who’s on a three-month deal, hopes her time with Gintra can act as a stepping stone to a higher-profile club.
