CIAC girls soccer Class L playoff results, schedule

It’s state tournament time in Connecticut.

New champions will be crowned across the state in girls and boys soccer. It will be a sprint of just more than two weeks from the first games to the championship matches.

In girls Class L, Simsbury cruised to the top seed after a perfect 16-0-0 regular season. No. 2 Pomperaug, No. 3 Wethersfield, No. 4 North Haven (last year’s state runner-up), No. 5 Newtown and No. 6 Brookfield all earned first-round byes. No. 7 Masuk, the defending state champion, just missed out.

The first round begins on Friday and will continue through Saturday. All first-round games will be hosted by the higher seed. As of Tuesday morning, dates and times for all 10 first-round matches had yet to be announced.
