Thirty-three career goals, two America East Striker of the Year awards and a pair of NEWISA All-New England first-team nods. That’s an impressive haul for any collegiate player, but Brooke Murphy (Monson, Mass.) still wants more for her 2017 campaign.
A senior striker at the University of New Hampshire, Murphy harbors lofty ambitions, though none are of a personal nature. She’ll serve as a co-captain and when asked about her last hurrah, she harps on helping her teammates win a conference championship, a feat she reached her freshman year.
"We want everyone to understand that to hold that title at the end of the year is the best outcome, because it really flies by," Murphy said. "That’s what we’re trying to harp on and want our underclassmen to know. OK, you’re a freshman but you’ll blink and you’ll be a senior. Enjoy it, but let’s work hard and let’s win."
