Abby Carchio (Lakeville, Mass.) majored in history while a student and standout soccer player at Brown University.
That area of academic concentration may not be as conducive to creating a super tech-savvy individual as, say, an engineer. But that didn’t stop Carchio from diving into the tech realm after college.
Carchio co-founded a startup in which she, and two friends and fellow Brown grads, designed and created a soccer training application that uses algorithms to personalize a training plan in seconds. The app, which has officially launched, is called Trainsolo and is billed by its creators as the first-ever soccer training app that allows users to create a plan that pertains to their level, objectives and time. The goal is to personalize a training session so that the player can truly work on the areas that they know they need attention in.
