Last Nov. 17, the Suffield Academy boys soccer team made a late-Sunday morning business trip to Choate Rosemary Hall.
There was only one acceptable outcome for the Tigers and it was to fulfill a mission that started in late-August of 2024, one that Suffield players and coaches weren’t bashful about discussing throughout the late-summer and fall of last year.
It was simple: get past any obstacle in front of them, and win a NEPSAC Class B championship.
The Tigers did just that with a massively impressive 8-1 victory over Williston Northampton on championship Sunday. It capped off a playoff run that saw top-seeded Suffield win three games by a combined margin of 13-2. The win marked the program’s sixth New England championship and the first since 2005.
