Over a recent holiday weekend, I found myself perched at the soccer field in tournament play. While the tournament was not a successful one in terms of results for the U14 boys team I coach, I left the event more focused on an issue that came about in a game that did not even include our team.
This issue is becoming more and more of a problem and one that is incredibly frustrating and ridiculous.
Let me set the scene …
Our last game of the tournament took place on a field that had three U10 games running before ours. Our team and our opponents were warming up on the fourth of the fields that was free and available. The game in the opposite corner of the field was filled with emotion from the coaches, from the players and most certainly from the parents.
