I am extremely grateful to be able to coach young players and help them on their developmental path within the game. One of the teams that I have been coaching at the club level is a talented 2006 boys side that is an absolute joy to work with.
This group is on the cusp of a big change. They enter the fall making the jump from 9v9 to 11v11 soccer. The change of field, ball and goal size is going to require some adjustments for the boys and for me as their coach.
There obviously is a tactical component that needs to be discussed and taught to these young boys. As an International Academy of Liverpool FC, we look to work with our players and continue to develop their soccer knowledge during this integral year of growth. We look to connect the dots for our players and give them role models to follow and learn from as it relates to systems of play, style of play, player roles and positions.
