With former Belmont Hill standout Emmett Gordon (Brookline, Mass.) set to graduate, it looked as though Northwestern would be back down to zero NEPSAC representatives on its roster this coming fall.
However, that number will grow to three for 2019, with Vicente Castro of the Northwood School joining Berkshire School standouts in midfielder Ugochukwu Achara and center back Deng Deng Kur. Castro, a box-to-box midfielder who can also play as a left back, recently committed to the Big Ten program.
For the 18-year-old from Santiago, Chile, it marked the culmination of a journey to the United States that this past September.
