For the first time since 2005, the Western Mass Pioneers have clinched the Northeast Division of USL League Two – all with one game left in their regular season.
The Pioneers are unbeaten through 13 matches (10-0-3) and boast a USL2-low six goals against. All season, former St. Joseph’s College of Maine goalkeeper Blake Mullen (Manchester, Conn.) has proven vital to those efforts, anchoring a rotated back line.
Their leading scorer, Ciro Damine, was also recently named to an updated version of USL2’s Top 50 Prospects list. Damine, a rising sophomore at NAIA program Keiser University, is from Argentina and has six goals on the year.
