HARTFORD, Conn. -- Accountability is not a buzzword or abstract concept at Hartford Athletic.
After a 2-0 loss to Atlanta United 2 in its USL Championship home opener at Trinity Health Stadium on April 2, Hartford coaches and players discussed the need to be more clinical and ruthless in front of goal and not concede two confounding goals at the back.
"It’s unfair. That’s football," Athletic midfielder Andre Lewis said. "If you don’t score -- and you get scored on -- you lose."
Lewis eschewed any sugar coating of the loss. With one point from the first six matches, Athletic are not meeting expectations, which start with their own.
