In a flash, the April 19 selection date for the Division I national tournament is nearly here.
For New England-based teams to qualify, the easiest path is securing an automatic berth by winning their conference tournament. There will be at-large spots available across the 48-team field, but those typically go to power-five programs.
Given that framework, mid-April conference tournaments are soon beginning or have already commenced. It's crunch time for local teams, with several occupying contender status despite reduced conference tournament fields this spring.
