Lilly Reale entered her senior year at UCLA this fall having already accomplished almost everything a college soccer star could hope for both individually and as a team player.
The Hingham (Mass.) native won a national championship with the Bruins as a sophomore during the same year she earned the Honda Sport Award as the best collegiate female athlete in the sport. And she was a reigning back-to-back Pac-12 Defender of the Year, was a returning All-American and is a member of the U.S. Under-23 National Team.
Yet, for all her well-noted accolades, UCLA coach Margueritte Aozasa said perhaps the most impressive thing about Reale is an attribute some might not expect from a player who has done so much in her career.
