It wasn’t supposed to be like this. By this point, the spring soccer season would have been over. There would have been a tournament or two. Hopefully, there would have been more wins than losses in the season and no serious injuries. It would have been a lot of fun, with some inclement weather, some stirring moments and maybe some frustrating setbacks, too.
We take for granted that everything will go off as planned because it usually does. Schedules are set well in advance. Sometimes there are rainouts or forfeits, but things usually happen the way they should. And that’s fine. But this is without a doubt the strangest set of circumstances we’ve ever faced.
