Independence Day here in New England is a special day and time. From the Fourth of July fireworks with the Boston Pops to the barbecues and trips to the beach, New Englanders are in full glory. The region is saturated in history. That history is unique to us in many ways. It is in the very fabric of our DNA and makeup.
As a guy who is proud of where I am from and where I live, I got to thinking about our U.S. men’s national team during this time of the year. Coming off a 2-0 result over Trinidad & Tobago and a solid draw vs. Mexico in Mexico City, the USMNT sits in third place for qualification to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
With impressive performances from a number of the members of the current squad, I pondered the Best XI who, in my eyes, have ever played for the Red, White & Blue.
