Before the weekend, Oakwood already had an impressive U-19 team shaping up, with three early commits to Division 1 programs. Evan Southern announced he'd be going to Saint Louis. Versatile defender Billy Jones is bound for New Hampshire. And striker Chris Alwang is due to play at UConn.
Make it four.
Sloan Sullivan, a standout left back, has verbally committed to James Madison. Along the way, the 17-year-old from Ellington, Conn., had serious interest from UConn, Hartford, St. Bonaventure, Stony Brook, La Salle and Holy Cross, but his heart was long set on the Dukes.
"I just wanted to go to JMU no matter the circumstances," Sullivan said. "That was the place I wanted to be."
