1 on 1 Coaches Phil Tait and Zach Rowell (UMass-Lowell goalkeeper) showcase a series of goalkeeping shot-stopping drills. These drills work on the positioning, footwork, handling, agility and reflexes of the goalkeeper.
▸ 5 Ball Reaction Drill: Three balls on cones set up for the volley (high ball) and in between two balls on the ground set up for a regular shot. Balls are shot from left to right with minimum recovery time for the goalkeeper.
▸ 4 Cone Tap & Volley Save: The goalkeeper reacts to a number (1-4) called by the coach, tapping the cone specified before getting set and saving a volley at goal.
▸ 4 Cone Knock Off & Diving Save: The goalkeeper taps each ball off the cone in order before getting set and diving to the left side/right side to save a low ball played towards the corner of the net.
