A preliminary list of players for the 2018 National Women’s Soccer League Draft has been released, featuring six players with ties to New England-area schools.
One year ago, five players who played for Division 1 schools in New England – UConn’s Rachel Hill and Stephanie Ribeiro; Boston College’s Hayley Dowd and McKenzie Meehan; and Harvard’s Margaret Purce – were picked.
There is still time for others to add their name to the list of draft-eligible players, as the 2018 NWSL Draft doesn’t occur until Jan. 18 in Philadelphia, Penn.
Ahead of then, let’s get to know these six professional hopefuls who, in one way or another, call New England home.
