In terms of his trajectory as a youth soccer player in New England, Samuel Carrias (Marlboro, Mass.) was in a great spot heading into the 2019-20 season.
After shining for the New England Revolution Academy U-14 team, he was one of 16 players from the region invited to U.S. Soccer’s U-14 Talent Identification East Region Mini Camp last April. Before then, he had featured in the Development Academy for NEFC.
“Growing up, I’ve always wanted to be a professional soccer player, that’s for sure,” Carrias told New England Soccer Journal while home over the holidays. “I always felt I wanted it more than other kids, and I still do. Here, you don’t see a lot of kids or American players making it big, but that’s what I want.”
