The Generation Adidas Cup wrapped up on Sunday and the New England Revolution Academy U-16 and U-18 squads represented the region at the prestigious event held at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.
Although neither Revolution team won their group, they both rebounded nicely, making runs to the Premier Bracket’s semifinals. The U-16 group finished third in the Premier Bracket after beating Toulouse FC, 1-0, in the third-place game. The U-18 squad dropped their third-place match to Charlotte FC to finish fourth.
The Premier Bracket was comprised of the best teams that didn’t win their group during the group stage. The winners of the groups competed in the Championship Bracket. Real Salt Lake won the U-16 title and Orlando City captured the U-18 crown.
Still, it was an overall strong showing for both Revs teams. The Generation Adidas Cup features the top 80 clubs in the world, with representatives spanning 14 countries and four continents.
Here’s a more detailed look at how the Revs teams did and what players stood out at the event.
