Gianna Mitchell (Springfield, Mass.) will not play for Boston College during the 2020 season, the former FC Stars standout confirmed to New England Soccer Journal on Friday.
Mitchell, who holds one final year of athletic eligibility, plans to complete her undergraduate degree in communications at BC during the Fall 2020 semester. She’d then pursue transfer opportunities as a graduate student.
“I’m looking to play my last season of eligibility at a program that’s the right fit and lets me pursue my master’s degree,” Mitchell said. “It’s more of a personal thing than anything else.”
