Hope McMillin (Duxbury, Mass.) is accustomed to playing for powerhouse soccer teams.
She’s a junior at Buckingham Browne & Nichols, a perennial force in the NEPSAC's Independent School League, and she plays her club soccer for FC Stars, one of the top programs in New England and the country.
When she was deciding on colleges, McMillin wanted to maintain that level of excellence, and she believes she found just the right place to do that in Yale.
"Yale seemed to me like it would make me the happiest, while also pushing me to be the best person I can be, which is really what I strive for," McMillin said. "I knew at a place like Yale I would be surrounded by people who set such a high standard in the classroom and on the field, and that’s kind of how I live my life now being at Stars and BB&N. Both have extremely high standards on the field and in the classroom -- you have to be at your best in all capacities, so I feel like Yale is a continuation of the life I try to live right now."
