One of the region’s top uncommitted Class of 2020 players has a college soccer home, as South Kent defender Pierre Spiegel (Amherst, Mass.) has enrolled at UMass Lowell for the spring semester.
Spiegel, 18, spent a postgraduate semester under head coach Owen Finberg, and was deployed as a wing back as they captured the program’s first NEPSAC Class B title since 2016. All told, they went 19-0 and beat Independent School League side Nobles in the championship match.
Before heading to South Kent, Spiegel spent several years in the New England Revolution Academy and was an integral part of their U-19 Development Academy Northeast Division-winning side last season.
