Providence College typically lands several players from New England during each recruiting cycle, and that trend is underway in the Class of 2022 with Seacoast United outside back Mitchel Varley (Portsmouth, N.H.) verbally committing to the Friars.
Varley, 17, is a lifer at the New Hampshire-based club and has long attended Berwick Academy, a prep school in southern Maine. He mostly plays on the right and has the quickness to play winger, too.
By heading to PC, Varley joins teammate Taig Healy (South Hampton, N.H.) in making an early Division I decision. Healy, a No. 10, is slated to join the University of New Hampshire.
